Number 1 Tasks, Part 2

Repeating a bit from the previous post, but I’ve figured out some new information about the Number 1 Tasks.

The tasks which Number 1 assigns are random, in that which one you get comes from a pool of tasks of that same length. To get the maximum number of emblems, you have to complete 4 different tasks every day, of possible lengths of 1 hour, 2 hours, 4 hours and 6 hours. Which length tasks you get changes every day. Some of the days this is not a problem, like a recent day when I got tasks of length 1h, 2h, 2h and 4h, for a total of 9 hours. But with 6 hour tasks available, there will be some long days, and the maximum possible will be 20 hours total.

You have to complete the tasks before the timer resets in order to get the full credit of emblems. The timer (for most people) resets at their local time of midnight. But which length tasks you get for that next day is set based on an activation time in the files of 08:00 GMT. So if the time you hit midnight falls before 08:00 GMT you get the previous days tasks, and if your midnight falls after 08:00 GMT you get the next days tasks. Confusing, I agree. I like to use the GMT to local time converters at greenwichmeantime.com.

See the chart below for the dates and task lengths of Number 1’s tasks. Again, they should become active each day at 08:00 GMT. But It might be easier to just locate what your current pattern is from the chart and then you’ll know what the next days task lengths should be.

Date Task 1 Task 2 Task 3 Task 4 Total
June 3 1 h 1 h 1 h 4 h 7 h
June 4 1 h 1 h 2 h 1 h 5 h
June 5 1 h 2 h 2 h 4 h 9 h
June 6 4 h 4 h 2 h 6 h 16 h
June 7 1 h 2 h 4 h 1 h 8 h
June 8 4 h 6 h 4 h 6 h 20 h
June 9 2 h 1 h 4 h 1 h 8 h
June 10 2 h 4 h 4 h 6 h 16 h
June 11 6 h 2 h 6 h 6 h 20 h
June 12 1 h 2 h 4 h 1 h 8 h
June 13 2 h 2 h 2 h 2 h 8 h
June 14 4 h 6 h 6 h 4 h 20 h
June 15 4 h 1 h 2 h 1 h 8 h
June 16 2 h 1 h 4 h 4 h 11 h
June 17 4 h 4 h 2 h 2 h 12 h
June 18 6 h 1 h 1 h 2 h 10 h
June 19 6 h 4 h 4 h 6 h 20 h
June 20 1 h 1 h 6 h 4 h 12 h
June 21 2 h 4 h 1 h 1 h 8 h
June 22 6 h 6 h 4 h 4 h 20 h
June 23 1 h 1 h 2 h 6 h 10 h
June 24 2 h 4 h 4 h 2 h 12 h
June 25 4 h 2 h 4 h 4 h 14 h
June 26 6 h 2 h 2 h 6 h 16 h
June 27 6 h 6 h 4 h 4 h 20 h
June 28 6 h 2 h 2 h 6 h 16 h
June 29 6 h 2 h 6 h 6 h 20 h
June 30 4 h 4 h 4 h 4 h 16 h
JuLY 1 2 h 6 h 6 h 6 h 20 h
JuLY 2 4 h 2 h 4 h 6 h 16 h
JuLY 3 4 h 4 h 6 h 6 h 20 h

As you can see, there are some long days in there.

  1. I think the chart is correct but it doesn’t depends on your midnight time related to 8am GMT but depends at which time you start doing the daily tasks. If you start doing the tasks before 8am GMT you get the previous day missions only untill you get past that hour, then you continue to do the tasks of the exact day but not from the begining. I mean, if you did two tasks before 8am GMT those will be the first two of the previous day and then if you start the third task after that hour you’ll get the third and fourth tasks of the exact day you are.

I hope i could make myself clear.

That way i could “cheat” some of the 20h days if the previous day has shorter tasks in the first or two firsts tasks, but in the last week will be almost impossible to make shorter days

  2. My personal belief is that the chart may have something to do with start times. Like if you didn’t get the first task until June 15th, you’d start on June 15th. But from there it’s just linear, or in order. Part of my reasoning is that I’ve had some 4th-of-the-day tasks go past midnight and then you only have three tasks the next day. I think that causes the next task to be run after midnight (task reset time).

There have been earlier comments about people with multiple games. I’d be curious if anyone has multiple games that did not start the event on the same day, and if those games’ tasks are in sync.

    • I know I just posted this, but I looked a little closer at KusineJosefi’s post below and it actually matches my current day so far too. For today I had 4, 1, 4 so far. That’s the first two of the 15th plus the third of the 16th. Unlike KusineJosefi, I’m in the US Central TZ with a reset at midnight.

      Interesting.

  3. The chart is CORRECT. Thank you thank you thank you. However I am on BST and it appeared not to work and I was losing so much sleep and emblems I sat and worked out the following. Hope it helps.
No. 1’s Tasks reset at 0000 PST (PDT-1) so the calendar shows the correct tasks for the day
    e.g Sunday 15th June
    4-1-2-1
However the timings for this ‘set’ for Sunday is reset at midnight for GMT (BST-1) but at the midnight PAST the PST reset.
Therefore if you start task 1 at 0001 GMT Monday 16th June (which is 4pm PST)
    the ‘set’ will be
    4-1-2-1 NOT 2-1-4-4

    Two examples-
    Monday 16th June
Task 1 started at 0001 GMT 4hour task finishes 0401 GMT
Task 2 started at 0405 GMT 1 hour task finishes 0505 GMT
Task 3 started at 0508 GMT 2 hour task finishes 0708 GMT
Task 4 started at 0710 GMT which is 50 min before the actual tasks reset at 0000 PST so is 1hr task

    Monday 16th June
Task 1 started at 0001 GMT 4hour task finishes 0401 GMT
Task 2 started at 0601 GMT 1 hour task finishes 0701 GMT
Task 3 started at 0705 GMT 2 hour task finishes 0805 GMT
Task 4 started at 0810 GMT which is 10 min after the actual tasks reset at 0000 PST
so you get the 4th task from the new set which is a 4 hour task (i.e.the 4th task on Monday)

Whatever tasks you start after 0800 GMT will be from the order of the tasks from that day.
If you only start task 1. before 0800 GMT and the rest after 0800GMT then you will have the 1st task from the day before and the 2nd 3rd and 4th from the current day

I hope thats understandable. The time to complete the tasks always resets at midnight in your time zone but it is the same set of tasks that are released at midnight PST time and when the ’set’ changes at PDT time the ‘set’ changes for all time zones i.e 0800 GMT

  4. The chart is correct and should apply to everyone, but you just have to figure out how to read it, depending on your timezone. I’m in Europe, and for me the first tasks of the day is available at 2 am. At this point and up until 11 am (give or take an hour – because of work I haven’t figured out the time exactly) the server in the US still think it’s yesterday, but my game only “know” that I should be given the first task of the day, so I get the length of yesterdays first task. The same usually happens with task number two. Then at some point the server and my game are on the same date and the last two tasks are usually according to the chart.

Here’s how the last few days has been for me:
    12th: 6-2-4-1
    13th: 1-2-2-2
    14th so far: 2-2

    See the pattern?

Hope this made sense, and that the explanation was understandable.

  5. Most days this has been accurate, but today, June 11, I woke early to deal with a 20 hour schedule, but so far I’ve had 2hr, 2hr, 6hr…waiting to see what the fourth rotation is, but I clearly didn’t need to wake up early…however this is the first time I’ve noticed a discrepancy from the list above.

  6. My game doesn’t seem to be following this calendar. Today I had 4 hrs, 6 hrs, 4 hrs and 1 hr. Which I don’t see on this list at all.

Is it possible that there’s more than one schedule? Kind of like Pink dominate and Blue dominates?

    • Yes, I’m now thinking (again) that it’s just random which ones you get. I’m frustrated by how this doesn’t match what I read in the files.

      • What’s weird, is I’m playing 3 games and they are always on the same time calendar. Helpful for planning timing to get thru all the daily tasks. But still weird that I can’t match up to any calendar. These 3 games were all Blue dominate. Also, all 3 are in the same time zone (technically, the third game isn’t mine. I’m babysitting it for a friend) i’m guessing this time calendar matches your game?

        • Ive started noting down the lenght of the 4 tasks. Its the same for both my games – on the same device but it seems to be different for my friends.
          June:
          7th 4-4-4-1 8th 1-2-4-1 9th 4-6-4-1 10th 2-1-4-6 None of these match the post

  8. I have had different tasks in each game, (4 between all the family) every day since they began.
We all began on the first day and began the number 1 tasks within a couple of hours of each other, yet every day the tasks in the various towns have been different.
Today 1 town had a 1,2 4,and a 2, while another had a 1, 6, 6, and a 6. Very confused now as I cant follow your guide at all and just have to wait and see what comes up next.

    • It does seems to be randomized. I have two games and they are the same in lenght but it is on the same device. A friend had different lenght tasks them me on the same day but he’s in a different timezone so Om not sure how it works.

  9. i have no idea what day my town thinks its on – i just had a 1 hour task and now im on a 6 hour task – it should be on the 8th june today…

also the time my tasks end changed from midnight to 1am which is strange….

  10. My tasks for today lasted for 1hr 2hrs 4hrs & the last 1 was for 6 hrs. My countdown starts at 1am.

  11. Is it possible that some of us are 1 day late in that list, because we started the number 1 tasks in the 4th day, not the 3rd? For me that appears to make sense, since today I’m getting the 1/2/4 listed as June 7, instead of the 4/6/4/6 from June 8.

  12. I think that this list may at end be completely individual, since it reseted today at 2 am i’ve had a 1 and 2 h tasks and according to the list i should’ve had 4 and 6…

  13. 20h days are impossible for me, at least on a normal week day. For me, the counter resets at 2 in the morning, and I get up at 6, meaning I will have already lost 4h before I can set the 1st task. Even if I am able to put them up back to back, I would have to stay awake until 2 the next morning to collect the last task. What ARE they thinking? Either we have to make do with 4h of sleep at night, or setting alarms for the middle of the night. Yeah, right… Just when I thought this event is do-able 😉

    • I feel your pain so so so much. I have school most days, and 20h is outrages. I have been wanting the stonecutter outfits for so long, and the one chance I get to get them, I can’t. Really EA????

      • You need about 1,200 emblems a day so with active generous neighbours (that keep giving pyramids when the 60 actions are up) and catching those Order types, you still should make it without donuts.

  14. If a task isn’t completed (but is started), it seems to roll over to the next day and become the first task for the new day. Not sure what happens with the future tasks at that point though.

    • Task number 2 was 2 hours long after the unfinished one rolled over. So, it resumed the scheduled tasks where they were supposed to be according to the chart above.

  15. My midnight is before 8am GMT and I started No 1’s quest on June 5th (later than 8am GMT) and got the June 5th quest lengths. On June 6th I got the June 5th lengths again, and now I’m one day behind, as the article says. I guess on your first day, the quest lengths depend on whether you get the first one before or after 8am GMT. The very first quest of course is always the Squishee one, which takes one hour.

Another thing I’ve noticed is that for me, the counter resets at 2am instead of midnight, which is very inconvenient and makes 20 hour days effectively impossible (no EA, I’m not getting up in the middle of the night to play your game).

I don’t really believe you need to complete all four Number One quests every day to get all items in the end. There are so many ways to get emblems – in my opinion, if you start early enough and put some effort in, you can complete the event in time without night shifts.

    • Which is one of the nice things about this event, that there can be a “random” factor but it shouldn’t hurt the player royally like say, a prize wheel.

  17. I’m on EST, which is currently at GMT-4 (we have daylight savings on). So our midnight = 04:00 GMT. Which is before 08:00 GMT. However the first task for today (June 7) is 4 hours. Something isn’t adding up because the final task from yesterday (June 6) was 6 hours. So I should be getting a 1 hour task right? Because now it looks like it’s repeating either June 6, or skipping ahead to June 8.

    • I’m not entirely sure there. I’d keep track of your task lengths today and see if it matches the table. I’m just reporting on what I find, but do let me know, I’ll update or change the post if it’s wrong. Thanks. 🙂

      • I can’t find my day in the task table. My first task was 6 hours, the second was 2 hours and the then the third was 4 hours. I don’t see anymdaynthat correlates. I am not going to be able to get to the fourth.

      • Yesterday (June 7) was messed up because we were out all day, so I only had my ‘phone (2nd town) in tow.

I finished all 4 tasks there, but only finished 2 on my tablet (main town) with a 6-hour task overrunning midnight.

Both got 1-hour tasks this morning (09:00 EST, 13:00 GMT, 14:00 BST…) – looks like I’m getting the June 7 tasks today.

  18. Since the event started I searched for the part of the event that is supposed to earn EA lots of donuts – cash! Here it is! This time its not the random which is supposed to exploit the customers, but it are those incredibly long days and if you want to get all personal prices I guess you must not miss out more than a few days! But seriosly EA, 20h a day ??? Are we supposed to sleep while playing TSTO, wouldn’t a maximum of 12h a day be enouth? 20h thats impossible unless you are not some kind of super-human that dosn’t need to sleep!

  19. Off topic but I received a push notification that said come play the stonecutters and receive 24 free donuts. When I entered my game nothing happened. I feel I’m far enough into the update with almost 6000 emblems and homer is free. Has this happened to anyone else?

  20. Awesome post. Thank you, mrfy!

Looks like they made an effort to break everyone in gently before tightening the screws. The last 1+ week will be miserable for anyone still trying to complete all 4 daily tasks. Hopefully I’ll have reached the goal before then.

  21. The Number 1 tasks are broken for me for most of the day. I click Number 1 in the top right and the window pops up in a flicker and disappears. By the time it works I only have 11 hours to get the jobs done. And I always seem to get 4 hour jobs which means that it has been impossible for me to complete all tasks. I wish they would fix this glitch.

    • When it föashes you can still do the task by looking at each characters tasklist and spot the odd one 1/2/4/6h and set it, it works and will gvie you emblems.
