What Changed with the Season Premiere episode tie-in Update?

With today’s in-game update for the Season Premiere episode tie-in there was one change:

  • Base level building multipliers changed again, to get rid of the extra level which was added with the Level 45 update.
Level Old Multiplier New Multiplier
37 1.3 1
38 1.3 1.3
39 1.4 1.3
40 1.6 1.4
41 2.0 1.6
42 3.0 2.0
43 3.0 3.0
44 4.0 4.0
45 4.0 4.0

How is this used? Each building available for purchase with game $ has a base price. For example, a Level 37 building like the Bachelor Arms has a base price of $84,500 and it used to cost 1.3 times that, or $109,850. But now the multiplier is just 1 times, so it costs $84,500. Usually when a new level is released, the multipliers adjust so that older buildings become cheaper, and the new level’s buildings are at 4 times the base price. So if you wait for newer levels to come out, the buildings will get cheaper.

Poll results: what level are you on?

Well, the poll is closed, the results are in. 2876 people voted. Overwhelmingly (but as predicted), most people are at the top level.
poll pie chart

A breakdown of the percentages:

Level Votes Percent
Levels 1-10 4 0.1%
Levels 11-20 56 1.9%
Levels 21-29 80 2.8%
Level 30 13 0.5%
Level 31 16 0.6%
Level 32 15 0.5%
Level 33 16 0.6%
Levels 34-36 85 3%
Level 37 2,591 90%

We’ll have another poll in a few weeks. Enjoy your game!bart-and-lisa-screaming-the-simpsons-271496_1024_768

What Changed with the Thanksgiving 2013 Update?

In addition to the new Characters, Buildings, and Decorations which arrived with the Thanksgiving update, there were a few other changes to the game:

  • The Scratchy Thanksgiving Parade Balloon gives 100 XP when placed rather than 105. (This makes sense, as the XP given is usually 10% of the cost and the balloon costs $1000).
  • Balloons can be placed on beach, grass, pavement, boardwalk, and the boardwalk edge.
  • The Snowball 2 Thanksgiving Parade Balloon costs 15 donuts when last year it cost 20.
  • The Itchy Thanksgiving Parade Balloon costs 30 donuts when last year it cost 40.
  • In the Level 37 quest The Investorettes Part 3, you have to send 15 characters to Eat at the Fleet-A-Pita. Of those characters whom are eligible to send, Barney, Drederick Tatum, Miss Springfield and Kang will now earn at a premium rate.

Not many changes, but some useful ones.

Donut-Hole Premium Guide: Level 37 – Golden Calf

First off, let me apologize for any delay in Level 37 posts. The team has done a terrific job in getting out the most relevant articles for all of you as I have had a lot of personal issues going on including the death of my great-grandfather and have just taken some time off. But I’m back now to hopefully enlighten at least some of you.

One of the 3 new decorations added with the Level 37 update was the Golden Calf Idol. I will save my opinion for the end of the post but let me just say it’s another strikeout from EA with decorations. This is a unique item in that it requires a specific part of a level and not just reaching the level as most, if not all, of the decorations have been. Anyhow I am going to give you the breakdown of this item the best way I can.

Donut Hole Premium Guide: Luann Van Houten and the Southern Cracker Factory

Finally!! After 29 levels intense Tapped Out play(Milhouse came at Level 8) we finally have a face to go with the long-lost Kirk sound files and to top it off we now have Luann Van Houten to go and throw a monkey wrench in the whole deal. Although many of you think she should have been brought in with Kirk or at least another cash offering but if you are at this point in the game and still are questioning why each update is split between cash and premium, you may want to find a new game to play. This is the model of EA and this will continue to be the model as long as the game exists. But enough about why Luann is premium, let’s talk about whether she’s worth your donuts.

Luann has been introduced to Tapped Out by way of Level 37 as a premium offering for 150  which will buy you the Southern Cracker Factory and unlock the character. Seems like a proper update item at this stage but first let’s look at the history of the character and building.

Quik-Tap Guide: Level 37, Part 1

Following Mike’s lead with the level 36 Quik-Tap Guide, I’ll present the level 37 version. This is a stripped-down version of our normal walkthroughs with just the requirements, who to leave free to start the next part of the quest, the tasks they perform, and the rewards. (I’m trying a new format, less graphics, more condensed, hopefully more readable. Let me know what you think.)

Bart needs to be free to kick off the quest progression for Kirk Van Houten.
