How Do the ___________ Items Affect the Conform-O-Meter? Multi-Update Guide

With all of the craziness that the holiday season brings, (by holiday season I mean October to January according to the stores in my area) we sometimes get lost in our real world responsibilities like families, jobs, etc. And sometimes we just get behind, which is the case with our Conform-O-Meter posts. We’ve missed a few updates and instead of posting them one by one I’m going to catch up, right here, all in one guide.

conform2According to my records we are missing everything after Level 45 so we’ll go from there and by the end of this will have covered everything up until Phase 2 of the current Christmas event. If you’re new or newer and would like to learn what the Conform-O-Meter is and what it does please see our post here. For more information about the other Conform-o-meter ratings and other technical details in the game, please check out our S-Files Page full of technical info on the game here.

The Characters and Costumes Of The Simpsons Tapped Out (Update: “The Serfsons” Episode Tie-In)

Hello fellow tappers, recently it was requested to post the complete collection of characters of the game so here we are.

I’ve included all characters collections and mentioned all costumes (that don’t appear in other characters collections). Enjoy. There’re a lot: 98 with 1 just added by the “The Serfsons” Episode Tie-In, and 2 unknown ones added by the Spring Cleaning and the Destination Springfield Takedown updates.
TSTO_Splash_Screen
All costumes pictures has been added now as well as the item they’re associated with. Characters in red means the character or costume is not associated with it.
Characters in blue means the character is an NPC, with no jobs.
Thanks to SurlyCodger at AHQ for the list of items associated with the characters.
Notes: There’re a lot of images in the article. Beware of your internet limit.

What Do The Ghost Generating Items Now Earn?

This is more or less a reference post rather than a current informative post due to the fact that if you have any of the Ghost/Goo generating items from last month’s Halloween Event 2013 then you already know what they are now earning in cash and if you do NOT have any or all of the items it serves no purpose since they are no longer available. Regardless we are here to provide as much info on every aspect of the game as possible.

As just about everyone knows, aside from new players, the Halloween Event 2013 gave us new items as well as past-release items that earned Ghosts instead of cash and the Ghosts then, in turn, generated Goo, the bonus alternate currency of the event. Now that the event is over and filed in the pages of Tapped Out history those items now generate cash/XP like most if not all of the regular game items. A lot of Tappers base the items’ true worth by seeing how profitable they are after the event so that is what I am going to cover for all of you. Let’s get started.

Should I Buy? Returning Buildings – Super Halloween 2013 Edition

After a much-needed short break I am back with the 2nd post of Should I buy? Returning Items series which covers all of the game items that have been reintroduced from the 2012 Halloween event. The first was on the returning characters and can be found here. Now I want to cover the buildings that have been offered again. Again, I think EA deserves credit for bringing back so much of the previous event for those who were not able to get the items. This move was completely unexpected and I think it shows that they are listening. BUT, I would advise against holding off on any of these items this time around. If there’s something specific that you wanted I’d get it now if I were you as I do not see any of this being offered a third time. To assist you the best way I can I’m going to break each one down for you. This is just my opinion, you may have another opinion on a specific item and I urge you all to submit that in the comments below. (Note: The images have been extracted by me personally from the files, with a big thanks to JimmyD for showing me how. I am not watermarking our name or mine as they are not mine and are the property of EA and it’s affiliates)

Let’s get started shall we?

Bad Dream House

Bad Dream HouseThe Bad Dream House comes to us from the very first Treehouse of Horrors episode airing October 25th, 1990. It appeared in the first short of the episode titled after itself. The Simpsons move into a new house that they received at a steal of a price and soon after realize something evil lurks within. Maybe it’s the vortex in the kitchen, or the fact that it was built on an Indian burial ground or maybe it’s due to the fact that when the family sleeps the house brainwashes them all into killing each other. That is all of them except Marge who eventually fights back by giving the house some lip. After it is explained to the house that it is going to have to accept the family living there, like it or not, the hose decides it would rather die than house the Simpsons and ends up imploding into nothingness.

Cost: 85 Donut Currency

Requirement: None

Jobs: None (when it was originally offered it came with a short quest in which residents of Springfield were sent to spend the night to be brainwashed)

Income: Cash image500, 45 XP Image every 24 hours

Action Quote: “Scaring Unsuspecting Guests”

Size: 9 X 9 squares

Animation: Yes. Colored lights shine out of the windows.

Can be sold: No

Reward: 85 XP Image upon build. Improves your Indolence rating.

Summary: The Bad Dream House is an interesting building. While it does not come with any characters nor does it have any jobs or quests it does produce much-needed income year round. It also helps your Indolence rating which allows you to at least have a unique building other than the standard array of houses. To me this means at least it contributes in its own way. The animations for it are decent however it is only available with the event if someone haunts it. For those who only buy building/character combos obviously this isn’t for you but for those nostalgic tappers it is a decent buy for the fact that it is from the very first Halloween episode. That value almost makes up for where it’s lacking with available jobs for it.

Which limited-time decorations affect the Vanity conformity rating? Part 2.

Vanity is the fourth of the Conform-o-meter ratings. (For more information about the Conform-o-meter, see here. For more information about the other Conform-o-meter ratings and other technical details in the game, see here.)

Part 1 was about the regular decorations that affect the Vanity rating. See that post here. For the amount of Vanity points you need for your level, see this post here.

Quite a few decorations have come and gone already, due to the events that happened in the past, episode tie-ins, or seemingly random updates. Even though they are no longer available, they still count towards Vanity if you have them. Of course this info is most helpful for players who have some of these items.
