  1. Considering the butterfly tent as a decoration for my Ultrahouse but only if it’s animated, or should I hold on to my donuts for some possible choice limited items on the Thanksgiving update? Any word on when TG starts? TY to TSTO for all you do- I’m a new tapper and your walk throughs, premium guide, blogs etc are indispensable. Love you guys! Muah!

    • Look at all premiums in your neighbourhood and tap them to see if/how they’re animated, how they sound etc. I would wait on decorations until you’ve played a bit longer. So much stuff (more for every level unlocked) will crowd your town but if you dont mind redoing the town every 3rd level, start decorating/designing now.
No word on when TG will come but it will happen.

  2. Hi, I’m a freemiun player from Colombia, already on level 46 and I have save 165 donuts, I’ve been reading about best purchase, but the one that I like the most it’s too expensive (Barney) so I’ve been checking every website about it… Any advices! Thanks in advance! Ps: I have only buy one thing with donuts, a turbo car that I regret as soon as I got it.

    • Not sure what you’re asking but if you need donuts
-Visit friends, all of them, daily. At maximum Friendshiplevel you can find a couple of donuts for actions a week
-Clean up trash. Total is around 10 for all trash in Springfield.
-Do the given quests. Some pay donuts.
-Bonus level up. Set short tasks to get more xp. Each BLU gives you the donutboxes.
-Play Sideshow You in Krustyland every 8h. Every 100 game is suppose to give you 5 donuts.
One time deal. Tap Homer fast, repeatedly until he gives you the Jebediah statue and 10 donuts.

      • Mmmmm ….that wasn’t at all what I was asking. I have 165 donuts saved and I want to spend them as best as possible, I don’t know what isn’t clear for you😒 I know that the best choice must be a building with a character such as professor Frink’s lab or So…. So which one you think is the best to purchase with my saved donuts?

        • Oh! My bad. I thought you had your mind set on getting Barney and wanted to get more donuts.
It is all very subjective on what you want or look for. Do you go by heart and disregard stats and numbers? Or do you want to earn more cash? Do you want more tasks? Do you want to increase bonus? Do you want to animate your town a bit more? Depending on what you want and what qualities you consider to be ‘best’ the advice would differ.
General rules: 1. if you do not like it – do not get it! no matter how much bonus/earning or whatever because you’ll regret it everytime you see it. 2. Limited before permanent.

          • Well actually I do want Barney but it’s too expensive, 250 donuts it’s like another 2 years to get it for free, I want a building with a talking character and outdoors tasks, that gives some money and with a fun looking… I’m between Otto and Frink , but I’m open to suggestions…

            • It is not 2 years until Barney. My B is premiumfree and it is just over a year old and has earned +270 Donuts without friends. With the frienship donuts when you’re at max FP it will go faster. And this event gives a lot of donuts, you can find them in the bags or from shooting down a ufo. I wish you had used the Gil deal for Otto a while back if you had thought of him. Frink was my first premium character. Both are good but Otto is a bit better if you’re ever in KL. I would probably keep saving for Barney. Worst premium buys in my opinion (I know others disagree) are Sheri&Teri, rich Texan and Arnie. Useless buildingfree boring or annoying.

              • Thank you for all the advices…. I will wait till the next deal or for Barney… Hope I’ll be less than a year. Cheers

                • You’re very welcome. I hope you get some donuts shooting down ufos in your neighbourhood so you can get Barney soon. He is worth the wait.

    • I love Barney, so I just had to get the Bowl-a-Rama and I’m glad I did! It has quest lines, it lights up when in use (looks great next to my drive-in when they’re both activated) and Barney’s phrases and actions during his tasks are a total crack-up for me. What’s Springfield without Homer’s BFF?

  3. I have saved up 92 donuts and want to buy something from the past Halloween updates. I cannot decide if I want to buy the bad dream house, the house of evil, devil Flanders, witch marge or try to save up for boobarella. Any suggestions?

    Like

    • WitchMarge. She earns treatbags and she can be used for speeding up crop.
But as always, its your money so your preferance is way more important than mine in this case.

  4. Any opinions on the Open Air Stage? I was thinking its a bit pricy and bulky, but in my neighbors’ towns I see some cute things going on. I crossed the Freemium/ Premium line and I’ve got 178 donuts left after a spending spree that unlocked Rex Banner, Miss Springfield, Luann Houton & both presidents. I’m trying to decide which would be the better buy: the Stage for the fun of it, Lardlad for the tasks, but I’d also like to unlock Jasper or Lugash… Decisions! I know you can’t recommend one over the other because it depends on personal taste and playing preference, but if you could share what you consider to be the better overall buy that brings the most activity or entertainment…. Thanks as always!!

    Like

    • Open Air does add a lot of fun tasks -Tap for audio! but it is kinda hard to place, if you’re still collecting tickets in KL the stage will not be used (except for Willie) as you need the preformers in KL.
Lardlad adds tasks for the cops and Homer but only 5min, the Aztec or the Observatory has better tasklenght and dont take up so much space – none of these tasks are visible.
Jasper is a good buy for entertainment and the Stoncutteroutfit with paddelin Homer! Lugash not so much (dont care for the 24h visible grooming mustasch) only fun is the 60min confiscating pets.
I like the useless NonPlayableCharacters as they animate the town but no eraning, no bonus, no nothing really – just for fun.
It is so exciting when you first start adding the premiums (all the choices!) but a warning: it is addictive.

      • Thanks for the warning, but a little too late… haha. I should probably disable in app purchases for awhile. 😉

        Great info, thank you!

  5. Hi there I am a freemium player…I’ve saved 177 donuts and ready to spend. I was considering the cracker factory or split it up and buy a few things. I have 4 1/2 stars and need consumerism and gluttony. Any suggestions will be nice. Thanks!!

    Like

    • The crackorfactory is big and a bit dull BUT it comes with LuAnn AND it ublocks the Fleet A Pita vans in KL as well as SF. It is a bit pricey.
The most important thing is that you want it, if it helps ratings etc good but if you think it is hideous – do not get it.
Sprawl*Mart and the TryN save goes on Consumerism but dont come with any characters and SM is used only by Agnes. I think the Aztec is better as a stand alone building as it can be utilized by Bart, CBG and SVT. I like the combos too. The Petshop is cheap but Jubjub only have two tasks.
To up the Gluttony, use coffee carts. They can be hidden more easily then Gulp n blows, although I think they only go on Squidport. Lardlad adds new tasks to Homer and the cops.
The consumorism is hard. Multiple KwikE Marts but thats no fun (necessary to keep it up).
I can only give you my opinion and it may not be what you like so feel free to ignore me. Im at 2 stars in my B and have the same amount of donuts as you. I dont really care to add any premiums there but I have thought about it. Top of my list is Frink, Otto, the Petshop, the Aztec and Barney but I dont consider ratings 🙂
It is a difficult decision and if the items are permanent take your time, whatever you choose will be right for you.

    • Whether or not to buy premiums are based on personal taste. First rule: Dont like it – dont get it! Second: limited before permanent.
Dr Nick is relatively cheap, and has a questline for Squidport. He is voiced and got some cool visible tasks.
He cant go to KL, you need to have the hospital to access all of his tasks, even if you can get him earlier.
That is the short list for Dr Nick 🙂

    • What do you want most?
Giving advice on what to buy is hard as it reflects the individual wants and not the general opinions. Make a list. 1. If you don not like it – do not get it! 2. Limited before permanent.
You can factor in stats like earnings, rent, space, bonus, ratings etc but rule 1. holds – if you think it is hideous, annoying – do not get it!
I love all the NPCs but they are rather useless, no earnings, no rating, no bonus…

  15. Everyone spends money on some sort of entertainment. I always hear the mother or father in checkout lines tell their kids when they want an item, “sorry we can’t afford that” as they buy cigarettes and/or beer.
Any who, does anyone know for if items that earn you bonus percentages stack? Like if I buy an additional snowcat leaving me with two of them, is my bonus now 4.00%? Thanks for any and all help.

      • Gee I guess you got me….not really.
You both missed the point. My comment was referring to the value for money, not beer or smokes..cars or gas.everyone indulges on some kind of entertainment, or bad habits, or indulgences, like fast food, etc.
The point was, in terms of GAMES, the value sucks! real money cost vs the entertainment and quality of the game….that’s it.
Obviously you can spend your money on whatever you want, and hey knock yourself out, just don’t get your panties in a bunch when someone says it’s not worth the money.
If you think it is….great spend spend spend!

    • I understand where you’re coming from, yeah, over time you can spend up to 200 dollars on the game. As a die hard simpsons fan, though, the amount that we’ve spent on the game over the years is comparable to the amount of enjoyment the game has given us. This is the only game that I’ve played religiously for the last two years, and 200 dollars over 450 days is fair. If you don’t like the simpsons that much, then you probably wouldn’t pay, considering you don’t really know that much about the show. But for everyone else, let us have our fun. Okay?

      Like

      • By all means! In the end, only the person who is spending their money can determine if it is worth it or not. I was simply expressing my position.Obviously those who are willing to spend on it finds the cost reasonable, as you stated.
        No worries.

        • For me, this is the only mobile game I’ve ever seriously played and have spent real money on. Obviously in the end I’m paying for virtual nonexistent material but it’s one of maybe two vices I have. Yeah there’s a lot of issues but not everyone has them. I’ve played faithfully everyday since February and have never had a serious issue. As far as the in-game limitations like 360° NO mobile game of this kind has that function. However this is the only game of its kind to offer unique content that for at least me personally adds to the enjoyment of the show. Not only the game positives I have made dozens of terrific genuine friends from these sites that the game has spawned and have personally created one of the biggest sites for the game where I get to interact with people every single day. There’s so much more enjoyment than just the game that no one ever saw coming. I earn my money rightfully and have no qualms with spending it on this game. I wish I could share the enjoyment a stupid phone game has brought to me and it has made a special activity for me and ny son as we both, though generations apart, now can’t wait to watch the next episode or see the next update. To each his/her own and you are 100% entitled to your opinion. But for me this has become so much more than a game that I couldn’t put a price on.

          Like

              • ROFL, and you call that a vice? Too cute. Oh well, when you said that paying for virtual nonexistent material is just one of maybe two vices you have, I thought maybe you have a real vice! JK, and thanks for the reply.

  16. Ok, I admit, I saw this game three months ago, and thought I’d give it a try because I used to be a Simpsons fan before they became so friggin boring.

The idea of spending well over $200 of real money for a game of this quality is insane. Especially a game that has so many glitches, poor response from EA when a problem arises, and when you consider for a few more real dollars you can buy a playstation or xbox, cheaper if you buy a used one.
I don’t see the upside to wasting money on a single game that has limited levels, limited town space, insane cost and time to build a waterfront,(squiggyport) and expensive cost- donuts-for premium stuff.
The game itself is a joke, you cannot even place your homes, buildings etc in a 380 option position, which again limits the ‘look’ of your town. Once you get your stuff, which can be done pretty quickly-except for the waterfront-, even faster if you house farm, what else is there to do except collect money and build more houses, plant more trees? Ooh such fun…..boring…and I am suppose to be tempted to spend real money on this?
Even Sims, though I don’t like or play the game is far better when it comes to layout, arranging items and interacting with the town.
Sorry to say folks but CNET was right, this game totally blows, but then again, EA is not interested in people like me,they are banking on suckers that will buy more and more donuts for a low grade game, made even lower if you don’t buy donuts.
Save your money. If you want to play the game, play it in the ‘free’ format. It really is not worth it.

    Like

    • 380° option?! What game has that?!
Its up to each individual to spend their money as they please. I personally think that cars, gas and such things are a waste of money when public transportation is available and I dont recommend spending money on that 😉

      Like

      • Sorry, I meant 360. But in answer to your question, SIM allows the player to place it’s object in any of four directions…360 degree. Tapped out allows the player to place an object in only two of four directions.
Of course it’s up to the individual, I never claimed otherwise, I just stated it’s foolish to do so for virtually nothing and considering the level of quality of the game. As for the comparison to cars and gas, my car makes me money, and is used in the real world, can you say the same with this game?

He’ll most likely have new temporary quest line tasks but will probably retain the same permanent tasks much like Fat Tony. All of his tasks are visible and has a really good joint task with Bart to run away. Definitely worth every donut.
